# Staking Risks & Considerations

When staking there are risks and considerations you must take into account;

* You are the counterparty for traders, this means when a trader wins on a trade, they will be getting paid from the staking pool
* Variable APY: annualized yield changes by the minute based off factors such as average trader profitability, volumes, and open interest, which is where fees and pnl of the vault are based.
