Now that you have a fresh wallet ready to go, its time to fund it. There are a multitude of ways to do this, one of the most popular is funding it through a Centralized Exchange (CEX). There are a number of CEXs that you can choose from and their availability depends on region, but we’ll give you a brief overview on how to generally do this:
  • Set up an account, depending on your region this may require more or less personal information and typically KYC
  • Connect a card or bank account (this is what you will use to buy cryptocurrency)
  • Choose the currency to buy, for getting to core, typically you will choose USDCorUSDC or USDC and $ETH to cover gas fees (you can offramp to a L2 to avoid the majority of these but will need to cover gas no matter what)
  • Withdrawal from the exchange, you will need to use the wallet address you created when setting up your wallet
  • Wait for the transaction to process (this may vary depending on the network)
Nice, You have just funded your wallet!
